For those seeking the most comprehensive Office version, including Skype for Business, they can opt for Office 2021 Professional Plus.
Office Professional 2021
Office Professional 2021 differs from Microsoft 365 as it’s a local version not reliant on internet access for application use. This is advantageous for users not yet ready to transition to the cloud and prefer a one-time full-price purchase. However, access to subscription services won’t be available.
The new Office Professional 2021 is the most comprehensive retail version suitable for individuals or small businesses. Large corporations are recommended to consider the Pro Plus version.
Its interface resembles that of the 2019 version, so there are no major visible changes at first glance. It’s only upon delving into the program that some of its updates become apparent, such as the dark mode, accessibility enhancements, and unique functions.
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint now support co-authoring, allowing real-time collaboration on the same document. Users can see who is currently working on the document and their specific section. There’s also an improvement in managing comments sent to co-authors.
Available for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 11 and Windows 10, this Office version will receive security patches and bug fixes for five years from its launch date.
